Grapes

Moldova is a country of rolling hills with miles of vineyards and in the warm autumn sun the smell of grapes fills the air.

This is my favourite time, the time when the work of making the wine starts.

I grew up helping my grandparents collect the grapes from their own vineyard with which they would make homemade wine. Almost everyone in the Moldovan countryside has homemade wine in their cellar.

Interesting fact - Moldova has the largest wine cellar in the world!
