Moldovan national style is preserved on fabrics such as rugs, carpets and as embroidery on the national costume, as well as anything from towels to pillow cases. This decorative approach to fabrics has its own language and style.

These patterns take on both geometric and organic styles. Typically they will depict people, birds, animals, flowers, buds, leaves, branches etc. One of the most common motifs found on Moldovan rugs are roses, which are my favourite.
